Active Schools’ Week 2016

Active Schools Week is taking place from May 9th – 13th. During this week we are encouraging children to be extra active at home and at school.

Every day, each class is having an hour of activities in school. We will have our sponsored walk on Thursday. Swimming for second class will begin on Friday 13th. A fitness programme for senior classes is also beginning on Friday and will run until the end of the school year.

Children are being given activities as part of their homework.

Well done, Ms. McLoughlin, Ms. Keegan and especially Mrs Kelly  for organising such a great week.

Calendar April to June

March 22nd 2015

We have another busy week ahead – so check out these dates and times:

Monday, March 23rd

5pm: Carrick-on Shannon: The boys have their first match of this year’s Cumann na mBunscoil. They are playing the Gaelscoil in Carrick-on-Shannon. Good luck boys!

7:30pm: Third Class are performing their play ‘Pirates versus Mermaids’. If the rehearsals are anything to go by, it should be a great show. Well done Ms. Keegan for making sure that the show must go on.

Tuesday, March 24th

7:30pm:  It’s the turn of second class to perform. Their play was devised and written Mr. Keane, so, if last year’s show is anything to go by, we’re in for a real treat.

Wednesday, March 25th

7:30pm:  We finish up our Easter plays with first class performing ‘The Chocolate Shop’ – sounds perfect for Easter! We can’t wait! Thanks for all your hard work boys and girls and, of course, Mrs. O’Connor and Mrs. Durkin.

Friday, March 27th

7:00pm: Lough Allen hotel: A fashion show is taking place in support of An Tóstal. The children who performed in school Scór earlier this year will be providing the interval act – probably around 9pm. It will be great to see them perform again.

Press on the link below for a copy of a letter listing these and other events taking place the school. This letter was sent home last Thursday.
